Obituary of Angela M Higgins

Angela Margaret Higgins, of Charles Road N. Linthicum, Maryland, passed away on January 4, 2023, age 91.  

Angela, the youngest of five, was born in Baltimore Maryland, on March 14, 1931, to John and Catherine Schmitt.  Angela attended and played basketball at the private Catholic University, Notre Dame of Maryland.  Angela subsequently further graduated from the Baltimore Police Academy.  Angela served as a Baltimore Police Officer and as a Flight Stewardess for National Airlines in the 1950’s.

 Angela married Edward Robert Higgins III in 1956.  Angela provided a warm home to her family and lovingly raised two sons, Timothy and Patrick, who survive her.  Angela was a dedicated mother to teaching and exposing her children to culture, particularly art and music by providing materials and instruction, as well as visiting museums, concerts, presentations, academies and galleries.  Angela provided a welcome home for friends, even in elementary school, to regularly stay for meals; as well as consistent picnic excursions to Maryland parks, historic sites, and summer trips to Mago Vista, Sandy Point, Betterton, and Rock Hall.  Angela will be remembered as a loving Wife and Mother, who provided education and opportunity through example and encouragement.  

Angela is further survived by five grandchildren and one great grandchild to date.
