Obituary of Mary Ellen McDonnell

Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Mary Ellen McDonnell, 80, of Ellicott City dashed off with her dance shoes Oct. 12, reunited with her husband of 50 years, Ed, who preceded in death but saved the last dance for her. We lost an incredible soul as she tirelessly cared for others and made so many smile. Oh, how she was loved! The nurses she worked with at St. Agnes Hospital remember her as a practical joker and party planner extraordinaire who made the best chocolate cake. She enjoyed so many things - classic movies, traveling, bending the rules, discount shopping, snow-birding in Vegas. She unconditionally loved her children Margie and Eddie and nagged them all her life. She will also forever be loved by her daughter-in-law Lan, granddaughters Miranda and Melody and rescue dog Lilly. She left behind a hell of a lot of pictures and video tapes that her friends may be reunited with as we say farewell Tue., Oct 18 at 11am at Loudon Park Cemetery. Please give generously to Smile Train in her honor so she can continue to make people smile.
