Obituary of Deborah Williams

Deborah Yvonne Williams, 70 of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away on October 6, 2022 in Baltimore, Maryland.

Deborah was born in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Melvin Botts Sr. and Amelia McDaniel on January 26, 1952.

Education was very important to her. Deborah started her love for education at Dunbar high school. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science and Master’s degree in Elementary Education at Coppin State University, Bachelor of Biblical Studies from Family Bible College, and later to earn her PhD. Deborah worked in Baltimore City Public Schools for many years and remained active in different positions throughout the school system thereafter.

She loved people and was a pleasure to be around. Deborah was known for starting a conversation with anyone in her path. Always offering words of encouragement and a prayer. She was the smallest person in the room with the biggest heart; she would always say “I may be short in stature, but I am tall in spirit”. You could always find her at the table with the food; she was the first one there and the last one to leave. Deborah loved her extended family from Genesis Bible Fellowship and dedicated her life to giving back to her community through outreach and worship. Deborah was a great encourager, faithful Orioles and Ravens fan, and A+ Bible student.

She is preceded in death by: husband Bernard Williams Sr.; parents Amelia McDaniel and Melvin Botts Sr.; aunt Bernice Simmons; siblings Melvin Botts Jr., Kenneth Smith and Earleen Botts.

Deborah leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters Deborah Parker (Kenneth Collins III) and Adama Parker; two grandchildren Djuan Turner Jr. and Kenneth A. Collins; three siblings Delores McCall, Daniel Botts and George Botts; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends. 

Loudon Park will be conducting the funeral service for Deborah on Friday, October 14 at 11AM with burial to follow at Loudon Park Cemetery. 3620 Wilkens Ave., Baltimore, Maryland 21229.
