Obituary of Joan Truitt

Joan Elizabeth Truitt, 88, of Sykesville, Maryland, passed away on June 5, 2022 at The Dove House in Westminster, Maryland. 

Joan is survived by her sons, Michael Truitt of Mt. Airy, Maryland, Craig Truitt of Ellicott City , Maryland, her daughter Joanne Saunders of Sykesville, Maryland, her sister Dorothy Albertini of Sykesville, Maryland, her brother James Hynson of Linthicum, Maryland, her grandchildren, Ryan Truitt, Allison Truitt, Alex Truitt, Evan Saunders, and Rachel Truitt. Her great grandchildren Camden and Mason Truitt.  Along with many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Presley and Theresa Hynson, her brother Presley Hynson and her son Steven Truitt. 

Joan was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Presley and Theresa Hynson on April 6,1934. She went to high school at Western High school and graduated in 1952. She worked as a general clerk for Verizon for 24 years.  She enjoyed reading, history, puzzles, and spending time with her family. 

Memorial service will be held at Loudon Park, 3620 Wilkens Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland, 21229 on June 24, 2022 at 11 a.m.  Burial will follow at Loudon Park at 12 p.m. 

In lieu of flowers the family asks to donate to the Alzheimer's Association or The Dove House in Joan's name.
