




Obituary of Roland Arnold Sr
Roland Arnold Sr. was a kind, giving, gentle soul who was born in a farmhouse in Anne Arundel County. He started raising pigeons at the young age of 7 and continued raising and racing pigeons shortly before his passing, having won many pigeon racing trophies. At the age of 18, Roland bought property on Kent Island and eventually built a house on the property, living most of his adult life there. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish, hunt and go crabbing on his boat.
He is survived by his fiancee Evelyn Smith of Linthicum; Children Kathy Birckhead (Steve) of Gamber and Roland Arnold Jr, (Jackie), of Glen Burnie; grandchildren Brandon Martinez, Amanda Benedict, Daniel Arnold; great-grandsons, Kyle, Bryce and Dylan Benedict, Landon and Hunter Arnold; siblings Betty Eline of Brooklyn Park and Kathleen Furrow of Linthicum, the late Ronald Arnold of Ferndale and the late Joyce Martinez of Lansdowne along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
